With another year of art ahead of me we’ve already jumped into some new assignments. So far we have had a task party, summer work review and a collaborative mural. During the task party we worked in partners and we had to communicate well together to find out what we wanted to create. The task that we were given was “create something blue”, we discussed for a few minutes and looked through the materials and concliuded on creating an original piece of art and made a jelly fish that was blue. We used blue paper to made a somewhat spherical top and then used blue stings for the stingers. We ran into a problem about how to keep the blue paper on the top of it without seeing the tape, we solved the problem by using blue tissue paper and stapling it on. After the task party we observed everyone’s AP art work and talked with each other and left notes about what we liked and what they could fix about their piece. We were then able to all come together to reflect and talk about what we saw. The last project we have worked on so far is a collaborative mural. We all worked on one part of a mural then we put them all together to create the bigger image. I was able to develop skills and learned how to do blending with a tortillion, with this I took risks because I wasn’t sure how to use it yet and it might not have blended well. Our class used global awareness in this project because of whose artwork we created. We enlarged the painting Guernica by Pablo Picasso who is a well known artist all around the world. I have really enjoyed the projects we have done so far and I can't wait to see what we do next.
