Over the past month we have worked on many projects. I have made original art by drawing a picture of my cousin while looking at a picture I took of her. I also made a colored pencil along with other mediums flower drawing. The last piece of art I made was a starry night sky painting. When creating my portrait I felt conflicted on what I should add so I asked the class what they thought and they helped me through it. We were also able to observe everyone else's painting and get critique from everyone in the class when we went around and did a speed art critique day. The flower project that I made started off as a single flower in the middle made with colored pencil and I soon lost interest in it. With the collaboration of my class they motivated me to keep with it and the finished project came out 3 separate flowers and 5 different mediums. I used colored pencil, water color, oil pastel, charcoal, and a 4B pencil to finish it and learned many new skills in the process. The final piece I worked on was the night sky one. For this I used a reference picture and tried to recreate it. I’m not very happy on the final piece because I tried taking risks when mixing colors and didn’t feel as if they had blended enough. When I was reflecting on my piece with another classmate we both came to the conclusion that the way to solve this problem would be to add more darker blues and blacks to blend the colors better.
